Since I live in England I've noticed a curious fact: when you tell that you are an Englishman in Spain, nobody asks you if you live in Madrid (it would be more logical if you consider that it is the largest city), but if you're from Barcelona, Malaga Mallorca. Malaga I have already spoken a previous post and I've never been to Mallorca, even so by the time I hear about her and how much I like, Barcelona deserves its own entry in The Immense Journey.
Surely you've already visited the old city, and although it is not so, sure you already know all the places you should go: Plaza Catalunya, Sagrada Familia, Barceloneta, Las Ramblas… so this post is a little more “tailor-made”, so you discover other places in Barcelona that enjoy if you're a boy, o si eres chica.
If you're a kid you do not miss…
CAMP NOU. A guided tour of the football stadium with more capacity in Europe (and sixth in the world) sure it's something you want to miss. By 23 euros can go all the stadium, from the field to the locker room, you through the museum and enjoy a media space where a 3D documentary. Do not forget to make pictures in the press room or in the cabs of commentators.
Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium. Following the sports industry, will surely like to visit the Olympic Stadium Montjuic (that contrary to what I thought, not named), mythical scenario of Olympics 92.
NORMA COMICS. Barcelona has the honor of having one of the most important specialized libraries in comics in Europe. In Norma Comics we Americans and Europeans comics, Tank, children's comics, illustrated novels, books and much, mucho merchandising. Sure you love.
The Black Sheep. One of the most famous bars in Barcelona for young people is The Black Sheep. There are various premises throughout the city, all large enough. Ideal if you want to take a pitcher of beer while listening to indie music and talking with friends.
And if you're a girl you'll like…
PARC GÜELL. Yes, I know I included in all guide books, but it is an absolutely magical place, and surely all girls will like. Colors, mosaics, musicians, even su odor trasportarán you to a world of fantasy.
AFTERNOON SHOPPING. Chanel, Gucci, Hermes, Louis Vuitton… most luxurious all firms are located along the most emblematic street of Barcelona, Paseo de Gracia (worth going if only to see the windows). For something more affordable alternative you can go to the neighborhood of El Born or El Raval, or visit the malls in La Roca Village and Las Arenas.
FOREST FAIRY. Just ahead of the Wax Museum which is probably the most original of all coffee Barcelona, the Forest Fairy coffee. There you will discover a world of fantasy as a fairy forest with its, waterfalls, toys… making sure you surprise. Do not forget to bring your camera. *Thanks Marc for the discovery
CHARMING HOTELS AND APARTMENTS. The hotels in Barcelona is amazing: varied and at very affordable prices. Instead of staying in a typical hotel chain, surely you prefer to look for something with a more personal touch and alternative. On sites like Oh Barcelona You can find apartments and hotels with a unique touch that is sure to make your visit to Barcelona has an extra charm (because you're worth it)
I hope to travel to Barcelona nuevamente within poco and go up this list of favorites. While, I hope your suggestions.
