Riviera_MayaSince a couple of years ago I published an article on Places to Prom, many people have written me to ask my advice on where to go or what the cheapest options are. As I said in the article, my weekend trip to Tunisia race was, and yet I have not been to any of the other popular destinations, but since most people ask me about Riviera Maya, I've thought about doing this small article with information that you think may be useful.

When to go: Riviera Maya is fortunate to have a 300 sunny days about (Like here in the UK :P), so the good time is guaranteed for all year. However, keep in mind that the rainy season from June to November. On the other hand is considered high season from December to March and July and August, so that at this time the prices are certainly higher.

What to visit: Riviera Maya is much more than a destination to catch an all inclusive and not leave the hotel and the beach, but of course you can also do that if you're looking. Most travel agencies offer optional excursions to the main attractions, or If you do not want to hire a priori, surely you can hire excursions directly with the hotel. Among my favorites are visiting Pyramids of Chichen Itza and Tulum, swimming with dolphins and snorkeling in Cozumel mythical.

When choosing the next holiday destination we usually consider several factors: site characteristics, how far we have left, and as always, price. Although the Spanish coasts typically offer very affordable prices, we find very significant differences between locations and other.

According to news gathered by World, World Holiday Costs Barometer recently made by the British Post Office agency, places the Costa del Sol (Malaga) least expensive of all our coasts, followed by Costa Blanca (Alicante). With regard to coastal cities, Torremolinos tops the list, with Jávea in second position and Palma Nova in tercera. The study has taken into account the average price of ten typical holiday items like coffee, solar cream, or dinner for two people.

Torremolinos

On the other hand, taking into account the average price of hotels, according to the National Statistics Institute the ranking of regions rentals would look like: Region of Murcia, Valencia, Andalusia, Canary Islands, Cataluña e Islas Baleares.

Only those who live in the UK know how much you miss the sun during the fall and winter (in spring and summer and also, the truth :P), so we half a year thinking about the holidays arrive to escape to a sunny beach in time to make the best possible. I have only two weeks, so I've decided to split between Sun and Sea, and culture and folklore. The first week will be spent in Córdoba, enjoying their famous Fair of Our Lady of Health in Toledo, during the celebration of Corpus Christi, and the second week we will be putting in Torremolinos brown.

If you are still organizing your vacation and one of these plans you think palatable, read:

CORDOBA FERIA

The fair is held between 25 May and 1 June Fairgrounds in Cordoba El Arenal. Its 8 days that promise to be full of booths, Seville, rebujitos, Typical dishes and Cordoba “pottery” in which mounted. The best thing about the show is that, Unlike other, Most houses are public, so you can get to any of them without invitation. The later will be my first Andalusian feria, so I can not expect to wear a ruffled dress and learn to dance. Also, Aaron's family lives in Córdoba, so I'll have some excellent guides. You can find more information in blogs May Cordovan and Welcome to Lilliput. Read the rest of this entry »

ZARAUTZ

We started our journey from Ponferrada, and decided to make the first stop on our trip somewhere in the Basque Country. Our choice was the city of San Sebastian, very close to the border, and camping Igueldo. However, that weekend were the holidays, and the campground was full, so I finally stopped in the beautiful town of Zarautz (where the restaurant's Gourmet Desserts, certainly).

We almost overnight, so we had to stay at the campsite, which suited us to leave early the next day to Toulouse, Zarautz but I pointed one of my earrings destinations, since what little I saw I loved. The camping also called Zarautz and was located on a hill from which had amazing views of the beach and village. Read the rest of this entry »

I imagine that by now you've probably summer vacation gone (surely to the beach), but if you are someone who can not leave because you need to work or because the crisis has given you full, or just want to keep putting tan, we suggest a much closer and cheaper alternative: river beaches (the bathing areas),a phenomenon that is growing in inland areas such as Castilla y León and want to bring you as it can still take some time to give a swim and sunbathe. This year was a new beach festival, Arenal Sound, in Burriana (Castellón) and from 40Travel I sent the tickets to watch Pudi (again thank you very much!!), so I grabbed my bag, my mat and my Quechua and I went there.

The festival comenzaria the 23 July and lasted until day 2 August, although I was only 28 to the 1. The poster was quite varied: many djs electronic music and the first days, and Spanish groups and some foreign from the day 29 (followed by nights more electronic music). But surely, the best of the festival was its magnificent location: right in front of the beach of Burriana, so that you are imagined where I pass them every morning… Read the rest of this entry »
